A little about trip:

Upper Dolpo trekking, leads you to one of the most exciting and mystical destinations around Nepal Far North Western Himalaya in complete isolation away from modernization world in the harmony of pristine and beautiful clean and fresh environment. Upper Dolpo although a remote and hidden Shangri-la which was exposed to outside world in the famous novel ‘Snow Leopard’ written by American author Peter Mattessian published in early 1980’s and later in 1998 a film was shot around Dolpo called the ‘Himalaya’ a French and Nepalese venture nominated for best foreign movie in Oscar.


Truly a dramatic country where you can enjoy adventure of a lifetime experience around wild-west of Nepal in Upper Dolpo Trekking, takes you to Nepal largest National Park within Shey-Phoksundo protecting its rare and endangered species of herbs and vegetation with wild-life Snow Leopard and Blue Sheep with other elusive animals. Starting with scenic air journey from Kathmandu to land at Nepal Far South West at Nepalgunj city airport and then flight continues to reach Inner Dolpo at Jhuphal where walk begins heading towards beautiful Phoksundo Lake within Ringmo village.


Walk progress with fabulous time around the emerald colored lake heading higher to our true destination at remote and isolated Shey-Gompa known as Crystal Monastery due to its close location within Crystal Mountain nearby, reaching at Shey Gompa after crossing the highest pass of the adventure over Kang-la above (5,350 m) high. Interesting moments at Shey Gompa exploring its wild areas often ventured by visitors, where our walk comes to an end of the journey after trekking towards Inner Dolpo areas within Tokyu Gaon and Dho-Tarap with Tarakot villages to reach at Dunai and back at Jhupal for sweeping flight back to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj.


Our wonderful adventure concludes on reaching at Kathmandu with ever lasting memories of Upper Dolpo Trekking around Nepal Far West Himalaya within remote and forgotten country of Dolpo.
